Jesse Jensen is a sales executive by day and a poet by… well, mostly early mornings and whenever inspiration strikes. He began writing humorous, whimsical poems during the pandemic and quickly realized he had enough material to fill a book — so here it is!
With a lifelong love of Shel Silverstein poems and a knack for finding the funny in everyday life, Jesse teamed up with illustrator Jashton Gieser (and enlisted the artistic talents of his daughter, Julia) to bring his rhymes to life in his debut collection, Throw Your Hat Over the Fence!
Jesse lives in the Atlanta area with his wife, Heidi, and their four children — who’ve endured countless test reads and dinner-table performances with remarkable patience.
Outside of writing and work, Jesse is a private pilot and a passionate volunteer with TigerFlight Foundation, a nonprofit that uses aviation to inspire young people to pursue purpose, leadership, and confidence.
He is also an inventor, an entrepenuer and a certified executive leadership coach from Georgetown University.
When he’s not rhyming, selling, flying , coaching leaders, or cheering on his kids, you might find him on the golf course or camping with his wife. Jesse enjoys helping people grow — in business, in the air, and in life.

Jashton is an illustrator and art educator in love with story and song.
His work is the intersection of all sorts of very different realities.
Faith and fairytale - humor and hope - childlike innocence and twisting darkness - deep thought and sudden improvisation - simple cartoons and the intricacies of the observable world - all this and more finds a home in his art and his teaching.
